Quiltmania 2023

 I just finished the last applique stitch on this quilt top. I was so excited to put on my design wall that I couldn't even stop to iron it.

This is a Laurie Simpson design for the now out of business Quiltmania magazine. This is on the March-April 2023 issue.

There is not a pattern to position the pieces on the background, one has to use the magazine picture as a guide. I used all the applique patterns provided; but modified the design a little bit. I actually added a couple more leaves and berries.

I don't like the thin blue border on the original. But I don't have enough background to piece another border, so I have to think about this one. Maybe it is done and just need some creative quilting.
