More Lollipops Blocks

And the lollipops keep on growing. Only 2 more to go. I will miss working on these sweet treats. I am starting to plan the sashing and borders.

Lollipop Blocks

Several years ago, Barbara Brackman had a post that showed a Lollipo Quilt that I loved. It was a red, green and white quilt. I also had seen the amazing quilt that Kim McClean made with similar blocks using Kaffe's fabrics and a light background. These quilts have been in my "to make someday list" for a long time. Fast forward to recent cleaning up in my studio. I found a paper copy of the Lollipop quilt that Barbara had blogged about; and I had noted the blog date, so I could return to it. It was too much to resist. So here I go with a new applique project and I am loving it. More updates to come. Cheers.

Fruit Quilt

The Produce Section: fruit sampler quilt by Elizabeth Hartman

My quilting bee is making this quilt for an auction to benefit the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston. These are the blocks that I have made. We are using solid fabrics and the same light background. The auction will be in January of 2025. More information later.

The 2024 Sew Along (SAL), for The Quilt Show is called Pick a Petal by Jen Kingwell.

It is a beautiful quilt, and I plan to make it with a lot of scrap fabrics. I made 2 other quilts by Jen and they are wonderfully complicated and stimulating.

Homeward Bound Quilt

I finished the 2023 Quilt along from The Quilt Show. The pattern is called Homeward Bound.

The top is done and the photo is from the "floor design wall". So, it is not the best. 

The pattern designer is Sarah Fielke, and my quilt top is 70 1/2 inches square.

I am very happy with the result of this 12 months journey. Not always straightforward. The big blue birds were too large for the area, it took some "fudging" to fit it.

If I ever to this again (no way), I would edit the birds and make them more in proportion with the rest of the quilt top.

January 1st, 2024, I will start the new sew along.
