Six months ago, I moved to a new State and before I left, some of my friends made me this incredibly beautiful quilt. I do love it! It keeps me company on my studio and I think of my long distance friends daily. This one will go with me to the old folks home if I do make that far in my journey. Thank you.

Birthday blocks |
Here it is some work in progress. The top photo contain some of the birthday blocks for my Bee. This is a fun activity we will be doing this year. We make blocks for each other based on directions we share with the Bee. On our birthday month, we receive our blocks from the group.
The photo below is also work in progress. This is part 1 of a mystery quilt called "Soupçon" by faeriesandfibres.blogspot.ca
It will run for 6 parts and the quilt will finish 36" square. I have not sewn the center hexie yet. Plus, I need to appliqué this pentagon flower to a background. I will wait for the next clue before I decide what to do. I am planning to use a light blue background. But that might change with the next step.
I guess I am not a very good mystery player. I do like to keep some control. Plus, I am not sure I will keep the yellow. We will see.

Benjamin Biggs Quilt Block 1
This is my first BBQ block. I did modify the block slightly. I did not like the original one very much. I was debating not to make it; but after reading that other people were modifying it, I decided to do the same. The original block name is "Apple Ridge Star" and it was made by Sarah Ellen Landers. So, sorry Sarah; but I had to do it my way.
The photo below show my inspiration for the color choices. It is a page from an old Pottery Barn catalog. I new I would make something with those colors some day.

Happy 2014
2014 is here and I have a cold. It started on the last day of the old year, so I was hoping that it would be gone the next day. No luck there. New year, old cold. But I am much better today.
With the change on the calendar, I decided it was time to start new quilt top(s).
Always love to start new projects.
So, I will be making the Benjamin Biggs quilt as a BOM. This will be a 25 months project. See link below to see what it is all about.

I will also start to work on a couple of patterns I bought last year. Aunt Green quilt is high on the list. It is also a large top. I don't need any more large quilts. But I won't let that stop me from making them. More on this one when I get the background fabric.
