Kool Kaleidoscope

I have been sewing along with Ricky Tims from The Quilt Show. He has a free class of the same name- Kool Kaleidoscope.
Ricky is an amazing teacher; and it is very easy to follow his instructions.
I have always loved kaleidoscopes and start quilts, this one was a must do.
The first photo, shows the pieces before they were sewn together. the white paper on top of one wedge is really the freezer paper pattern I made.
The lower photo (poor light on my design wall make it show darker than it is), is the completed top. It is 36 inches square.
At this size this top fits perfectly on the wall I wanted to hung it. So, now I am debating if I should add the borders. But I think I am more inclined to keep at this size.

Wasabi and mini blocks on a quilt

These blocks were made using my favorite Wasabi fabric.
The patterns for the blocks are from a December sew along provided by The American Patchwork and Quilting magazine published online in 2019.
The blocks finish at 4 inches. I chose to make only 16 of them.
The setting for this top is inspired on a quilt I saw on Pinterest.
I plan to quilt it using straight stitch quilting.

These blocks for Color My World SAL were done in the months of June and July. Now to make the August ones.

Happy Winter Solstice

December 21st is the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere; and so it is the longest night of this winter. Let the lighten days begin....
