|Every January the DOQ- Durham Orange Quilt Guild has a silent auction. Members of the Guild bring everything that they don't need any longer to sell. All the money goes to the Guild to fund our events. It is a great place to donate. You know that your stuff will stay with people that will appreciate it. We all bid against each other. What a fun! Every year, I say that I will not buy anything. But it is hard to resit. This is what I got this year. All these books; and this Pfaff sewing machine with all the accessories and manual. And 2 half yards of some Kaffe's fabric for one "Jackson." What a deal! For the ones not familiar with the green backs, Jackson's picture is on the 20.|

I have finished my Midnight Star Doll quill, well sort of finished. Too much coffee makes me very hipper; and I could not finish the binding before taking the picture. I also realized that my checkers game matches the colors of the quilt really well. The game set is from Brazil. It is based on a folklore story called "Bumba meu Boy." The quilt is 22 inches square. I really like it.
This good looking family in front of the White House in Washington, DC is my sister and family. They came from a hot summer in Brazil and were here for 10 days. Enjoying the very cold weather in DC (?) We could not visit the White House. The Chinese President was in town and all tours were canceled. We will have to save the tour for another visit.
